Change Your Life By Defining Cause and Effect
I don't know why but I had a real hard time getting a grasp of the concept of cause and effect mentioned in Wallace Wattles book The Science of Getting Rich. So I asked my wife to explain. She gave me one of those looks and then went on to explain in simple terms. She simply made a fist and hit me. She explained this was cause and the effect would be the black eye or me ducking.
So how does this relate to life? Well, people who drift along in life and don't really play an active part in their own lives tend to be 'effect’ people. You'd probably hear comments like ‘this is what life as dealt me' or 'I'm just going along for the ride'. They probably got a job because someone said it paid well and are still there 20 years later. Effect people tend to be passive and don't rock the boat. They tend to live in a world built by actions and thoughts of someone else, such as their parents, friends, church or even television. ‘Cause’ people are the action people. They are the people who work at what they want and love their work. They think for themselves and make the world they want to live in.
'Cause’ will bring you an effect but when you actively cause the effect, we call it a result. If you think you are at cause but the results you are getting are consistently not what you want, then you are probably one of those go-with-the-flow 'effect' people. It's tough to find out you aren't who you thought you were.
