Law of Cause and Effect Is The Key To Riches
In Wallace Wattles book he states that there is a science to getting rich. I know that many read this statement and just pass it by without thinking about it too much. So I think we should take a moment and discuss what it meant by this.
Now if that statement wasn't crazy enough he goes to say "it's is an exact science, like algebra or arithmetic. Once a person learns and obeys these laws, he will get rich with mathematical certainty." So let’s examine what he means.
There is some good news in the above statements. If we follow and obey the rules we can become rich. Okay, now here is the secret of The Science of Getting Rich. Are you ready? Everything is based on the Law of Cause and Effect. Simply put like causes always produce like effects. If you hit yourself with a hammer, it’s going to hurt. If 4+4=8 today, it will be the same tomorrow.
What makes this law so important? It’s a universal law. It applies to everyone anywhere in the world. The premise of this law is that you will get the same reliable results if you do things in a certain way. This law is unconditional, fixed, and always true.
So what is the Science of Getting Rich? I think of science as being able to develop a concept or theory into a method and then make it reproducible. Mr. Wattles states that if one person can follow these instructions and reproduce the result, then that proves it’s true. For example everyone thought breaking the four-minute mile record was physically impossible for a runner. Once Roger Bannister proved it could be run without having his heart burst, within the year several other runners also ran a mile in under 4 minutes.
Here is the really great part about this book. Mr. Wattles shows how to do things in what he calls "the certain way". If you follow his steps, you will get rich. He says so. He did it and so have others. Now here is the really cool part: think of it as your science project and rather than getting graded for following the steps correctly, you get rich instead. How great is that?
