SAD and Sedona and the Law of Attraction

by Beth on 12:16 pm

I've been wondering over the past couple of month why I can't seem to get out of my own way. There are things I want to do, but I seem to settle back into my old routine too easily and don't pursue my goals with the energy I've had in the past.

So what excuses can I come up with this time? Well, we've lived in the Pacific Northwest for over 25 years, and I think I've finally been afflicted with what is known as SAD – Seasonal Affective Disorder. It's also known as the winter blues. We've got long nights here and short days, and the majority of those days are cloudy. Bummer! I'm ecstatic when we have blue sky! Okay, so there's one. How about I've let myself get out of shape and could lose 20 pounds? Yeah, that always works for low energy. Or here's another one – I'm tired (oh oh – key word there!) of living here and want to move back to the East Coast. Miss fireflies, autumn foliage, four real seasons, and blue skies.

So what does this have to do with the law of attraction?

As usual, when I concentrate on one subject long enough, things start popping up. (LOA! LOA!) I figured that resistance was one of the problems, so, along comes Hale Dwoskin and the Sedona Method. Not in person, mind you, over the internet and in a book. If you've seen the movie The Secret, you've seen Hale. I can't say I was particularly impressed with his little vignette in the movie. It didn't really explain much of anything to me at the time. Then I met up with him again on Bob Doyle's website (another The Secret alumnus). Their audio interview was enough to get me to buy the book, The Sedona Method. I also sprang for shipping and handling and got their free intro cd and DVD.

This book is supposed to have the whole method in it. You don't need the audio course or need to go to the workshops. I'm maybe a third of the way through it. Wish I'd found this method decades ago! You can release emotions and make resistances disappear. And it really appears to work.

Hale and the Sedona Method may not take care of seasonal depression or being out of shape, but clearing out years worth of accumulated and compartmentalized emotions and resistance has got to help.

Well, the sky has patches of blue in it and a few rays of sunshine are peaking through, so I'm feeling better. Sorry for dumping on you. I'll explain more about the Sedona Method in another post and will keep you up to date on how it's working and my adventures with it. Going to go for a walk while it's blue outside.
