What Are You Passionate About?

dancing with passion Have you ever experienced passion? My simple definition of passion is that desire that no matter what gets in your way you'll find a solution around it so you can get to your end result.  The dictionary definition: a strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything such as passion for dancing.  How do you create passion?

I think a person with passion is living his dream.  Beth and I were watching "Dancing with the Stars" the other evening.  I looked over at her she was actually mentally dancing with the stars.  She has a passion for dancing.  When she was dancing regularly nothing would get in her way.  We live about one hour from Seattle and then a 30 minute ferry ride.  At the time she was take Lindy Hop lessons and nothing would stop her.  Snow or rain didn't stop her.  A three hour trip through snow and rain would be classified as passionate about dancing.

We have so many thoughts that go through our minds in just one minute let alone the whole day. So what makes us favor one thought over another?  How do we develop that passion for something?  What makes us revisit that thought over and over?  It’s not this simple but the more time you spend on a thought, the more you become emotionally attached to it. In other words you give energy to it.  You begin to own that thought and can actually see an end result.  This thought now has turned into a feeling.  So what keeps the spark in this feeling?  This would be emotional energy.  This energy channels and cultivates our thoughts and feelings for consistent and persistent action.

The bottom line is it’s our mind that controls our emotions.  Simply put what we think about most determines how we feel.  What are you passionate about?
