Do affirmations work? Well, in a nutshell 'Yes'. So what is an affirmation? It’s a positive thought or statement that you repeat to yourself. It’s so simple you might not think that affirmations work. Select an area that you want to improve and write your affirmation. What these positive statements are doing is reinforcing your subconscious mind. Here are some examples. "I am a money magnet, money is attracted to me." "I am losing weight, I feel good, and I look great." Affirmations can be used for anything you desire.

video worth million wordsDoes this mean that you don't have to take action? No. These affirmations put you in a positive mood and they will attract what you're asking, but there is no free lunch. What you're asking for is already there, you just haven't seen it yet. This is just part of the law of attraction formula: thoughts + feelings + action = results.

Here are four tips for a great affirmations.

One - Do not use negative words like don't, won't, or am not. Make your affirmation as if you already have your results. A positive statement will encourage you look ahead but a negative statement makes you relive your past. Which statement sounds better? "I am not sick", or "I am getting better and feel better everyday." Which one would you use for getting results?

Two - Affirmations seem to work more effectively if you say them out loud or write them. Of course, when you can't do either of the above you can think your affirmation.

Three - Repetition is the key. Whenever you find yourself going into a negative thought pattern, start repeating your affirmation.

Four - Video affirmations are now possible though some very low cost computer software. The saying a picture is worth a thousand words might be updated with a positive video is worth a million words. They can be downloaded on to your iPod, used for a screen saver which make video affirmation possibilities endless. You have the best of all worlds when you use pictures, sound and positive statements.
